"But you desire honesty from the heart, so you can teach me to be wise in my inmost being." Ps 51:6

Honesty from the heart...thinking we have all the answers or know what it looks like to be a good Christian is such a trap. It is a white washing. God is looking down from heaven to find one who is seeking Him. Not seeking who He was in the Bible-although that is good-but seeking who is is today! He wants to teach us today. But we are unteachable unless we are honest from the heart. The healing and cleansing starts there.

2Sa 11:1 In the spring of the year, when kings normally go out to war, David sent Joab and the Israelite army to fight the Ammonites. They destroyed the Ammonite army and laid siege to the city of Rabbah. However, David stayed behind in Jerusalem.
2Sa 11:2 Late one afternoon, after his midday rest, David got out of bed and was walking on the roof of the palace. As he looked out over the city, he noticed a woman of unusual beauty taking a bath.
David stayed home in the palace while others went to fight and his heart went to places it should not have gone. Yet he wasn't judged because of his adultery but for murder. He did not stay in the fight. And when we loose sight of God and where he is taking us we get into trouble.

Oh God we are a sad lot of people. We are capable of greatness when we follow you and grievious sins as we go after the lusts of our flesh. Please wash away all of our sins and attitudes that clearly go against your spirit and principles. Help us not to dispise your word in our lives.
